Sleeping Bags for Trekking & Camping

Choosing the right sleeping bag depends largely on the overnight temperatures expected on your trip. The Kaza 0°C Compact Sleeping Bag uses CLO 3 insulation and is designed for sheltered sleeping conditions from approximately 10°C down to 0°C. Its insulated zipper draft tube helps reduce heat loss, while its compact construction makes it practical for trekking, backpacking and camping.

K2 Sleeping Bag for Colder Conditions

For colder journeys, the K2 Sleeping Bag uses CLO 4 insulation and is designed for overnight temperatures ranging from approximately 0°C to -5°C. It also includes an insulated draft tube around the zipper and weighs approximately 1,100 g in medium and 1,200 g in large. Gokyo recommends using it with a sleeping bag liner when additional warmth is required.

Sleeping Bag Liners for Warmth & Hygiene

A sleeping bag liner creates a separate layer between you and the sleeping bag, helping keep the bag cleaner while adding comfort during overnight stays. The Kalimpong and Voyager liners use breathable polyester, pack into compact storage bags and are machine washable. They can also be used independently as travel sheets in tea houses, hotels, trains, camps and other shared accommodation.

Outer Liner for Added Protection

The K2 Cocoon Sleeping Bag Outer Liner is designed to go around the sleeping bag rather than inside it. Made from quick-drying polyester with water-resistant protection, it provides 72 × 36-inch coverage and weighs approximately 170 g. It is useful for trekking and camping when you want an additional protective layer around your sleeping system.

Build the Right Sleeping System

A sleeping system should be selected according to expected night temperatures, accommodation and how much weight you can carry. Use the Kaza for moderate cold, move to the K2 when temperatures may fall below freezing, and add an inner liner when you want extra hygiene, comfort and warmth. An outer liner can provide an additional layer of protection around the sleeping bag.

What does CLO mean in a sleeping bag?

Do I need a sleeping bag liner?
